The NHL puck line is essentially equal to that of the run
line in baseball. This type of wager is a point spread and is offered standard
in the industry at +/- 1.5. This means that you are either giving 1.5 goals and
the team that you bet on must win by 2 or more goals or you are getting 1.5
goals and the team that you are betting on can lose by one goal but not more
than one. A 2 or more goal loss, would mean that you have lost the bet.
*Example—Toronto Vs Tampa--- Tampa -1.5.
If you were to bet on Tampa, then they must win the game by 2 or more
goals. If you bet on Toronto, they can lose by 1 goal but not more than 1 or
you have lost the bet.
*Example of spread odds—
Toronto Maple Leafs +120
Tampa Bay Lightning -140

of course, you will have to put up more juice if you want to play the puck line
