A
National League East rivalry will be featured on Sunday Night Baseball as the
Mets host the Braves. These teams should compete for the division title all
season long, and this will be a battle.
Entering
Wednesday, there was just one game of separation between the Mets and Braves in
the division. New York is currently on top, but Atlanta is closing the gap
quickly. The MLB odds
for these games should be pretty tight.
New York
has been doing it with pitching, but at some point, this team has to score. The
Mets will have their ace on the mound on Sunday Night Baseball.
Atlanta
has a loaded lineup, and this team can put up runs in a hurry. The Braves
reached the NLCS a season ago and are a betting favorite to reach the World
Series this year.

Atlanta Braves are one of the top offenses in baseball, and they are led by two
superstars. Freddie Freeman was the NL MVP a season ago, and Ronald Acuna Jr.
might win it this year.

has not really taken off this season, but he remains a big bat in the middle of
the lineup. Acuna has 15 home runs and 32 RBIs through Wednesday and has a
flair for the dramatic.

Braves do have a team ERA of higher than 4.1, and Atlanta needs more from its
rotation. The bullpen has been solid, but they haven’t always had leads to

makes the start on Sunday night, and the Braves need him to pitch like an ace.
Fried has gone 2-2 with a 4.63 ERA, and he will be asked to mask the Mets ace
on Sunday.

Mets Need
More Offense
The Mets
are one of the worst offenses in the league, and that needs to change as the
season moves along. There are some big bats in the lineup, but several players
continue to slump.

Alonso leads the team with six home runs and 19 RBIs through Wednesday, but the
Mets need more. Francisco Lindor has been a big disappointment as well, and
that has hurt the team.
New York
will have Jacob DeGrom on the mound Sunday, and that’s always a good thing.
DeGrom is arguably the best pitcher in baseball and has pitched great this
season.
The Mets
do have some things to figure out, but all of the problems are solved with
DeGrom pitching. If New York gives the ace at least one run, then that might be
enough.
