Kansas City
Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders Betting Pick
The last
time Kansas City Chiefs met the Las Vegas Raiders, the Chiefs had won four
games in a row. That game didn’t go Kansas City’s way, with the Raiders scoring
40 points and gaining 490 yards as well. This week, the AFC rivals meet for the
second time, and the Chiefs are on a four-game winning streak.

When these
teams played in October, the Raiders were 2-2 and in danger of losing touch
with the Chiefs. Las Vegas’ offense was on fire, and the Chiefs’ defense simply
didn’t show up in the 40-32 Raiders win.
Raiders on
a Roll
Las Vegas
has won its last three games, giving up only 325 yards and less than 15 points
per game. For the season, those same numbers are 370 and almost 27. That’s an
impressive defensive turnaround.
The Raiders
stand at 6-3, two games behind the 8-1 Chiefs. If Las Vegas wants to remain in
contention for the division, it needs to win for a season sweep. In addition,
there are currently six AFC teams with records of 6-3.
Competition
for the three Wild Card spots in the conference will be fierce as the season
winds down. Fortunately for the Raiders, their schedule eases up a bit, with
only the Dolphins and Colts posing major obstacles.

Chiefs
Battling for Home Field
Kansas City
has the second-best record in the AFC behind the undefeated Pittsburgh
Steelers. With limited attendance, the value of home-field advantage is
questionable. Still, teams would prefer not to have to travel during the
playoffs if at all possible.
With 409
yards and almost 32 points a game, the Chiefs are second in the league in both
categories. Defensively, they are giving up just over 20 points a game, sixth
in the NFL. They’re allowing 353 total yards a game, 14th in the league.
The 490
yards and 40 points they gave up to the Raiders in their first meeting were
both season highs. The next highest total in regulation was 435 to the Panthers
in their last game, a 33-31 win.

Lines
Kansas City
is a seven-point road favorite, and the over/under is a robust 54.5. In their
last meeting, the Chiefs were favored by 12 points at home. For the season,
both teams are 6-3 against the spread.
The
moneyline at the top online
sportsbook has the Chiefs at odds of -330 and the Raiders
at +270.

Preview of
the Game
The Chiefs
are coming off a bye week and had two weeks to prepare for the Raiders.
Offensively, Kansas City performed about the same as its season average in the
earlier loss.
For the
Raiders, their offensive output was 107 more yards than in any of their other
eight games. The 40 points were also their highest output of the season.
In the NFL,
it is very difficult to defeat a team twice in the same season. The Raiders
were able to defeat the Chiefs by playing by far their best game of the season.
It’s not
likely to happen again, even in Las Vegas.
The Chiefs
will cover, but the teams won’t beat the over/under.
Kansas City
34, Las Vegas 17.
